Team Glen Callum race to the finish!
Raising money for Cancer Research Glen Callum Associates have entered a team in the “multi-terrain” 2019 Denso Ironbridge Half Marathon. With an aim to “finish” the team have worked hard training for the “undulating” half marathon that runs through the historical and picturesque Ironbridge gorge. With the team of mostly “non runners” staving off multiple injuries it’s likely that any bets will be on who hobbles first rather than who finishes first! With the competition for first place being hotly contested, as you would expect from our competitive recruiters, the bets in the office are on! (My monies on Kayleigh….unless Tom’s cold suddenly subsides!)
We’re hoping you will help support our team on their “exhaust”ing run (excuse the automotive pun, we are automotive recruiters and the sponsors are Denso!) through Ironbridge, the historical heart of the industrial revolution, in their quest for sponsorship for Cancer Research.
With most of us closely or directly touched by cancer we felt that Cancer Research was a hugely worthwhile charity and we hope to raise as much as possible to assist the cause. All donations very much appreciated.
Cancer research is a charity funding life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of cancer. Cancer Research is working to prevent cancer, diagnose it earlier, develop new treatments and optimise existing treatments to make them more effective. The 2017/18 spend on research includes £45 million on Clinical Trials Units, £57 million on research into detecting cancer earlier, and £35 million on research into possible cancer causes and prevention, helping people to reduce their risk. Their aim is to fund the best quality research with the greatest potential to bring benefits to people affected by all types of cancer.
A big shout out and good luck to the Glen Callum Team of Claire, Kayleigh, Kerrie, Tom, Nigel and Phil.
