As automotive industry recruitment experts we feel it’s always important to make sure we know the latest ‘what’s what’ in the industry, it’s also beneficial to speak to, in person, the companies who might benefit from our services, so we sent our very own Claire and Julian to Mechanex at the Ricoh Arena on the 11^th, but what did they get up to?

What is Mechanex?

Mechanex is a tradeshow for auto-repair professionals, it is the UK’s largest show aimed at the aftermarket and is hosted three times a year in the North, Midlands and South of the UK, with the majority of visitors being garage owners, or people who buy aftermarket equipment or parts.

First up a spot of learning…

seminar and the connected and autonomous vehicles seminar.

With almost all the OEM’s releasing some form of hybrid or electric vehicle and Audi releasing the first true level 3 autonomous vehicle in the new A8, these seminars are sure to be increasingly relevant in the automotive industry over the next couple of years, so it made sense for Claire and Julian to soak up as much info as possible to help Glen Callum understand where the OEM’s are heading!

Now for a walk round!

The tradeshow had almost 50 exhibitors, these varied from garage equipment suppliers, to tool companies, garage software companies, websites, consumable manufactures and parts suppliers, offering a wide range of products and services, spread across eye catching stands.

As always Claire and Julian were on the lookout for companies that could benefit from our services, Claire remarked, ‘It was interesting to see how companies rated their current recruitment providers, and after explaining to them we operate on a value proposition most were interested to know more.’

Of course, there was also time for coffee and cake, and to catch up with current clients!
