The IAAF Annual Awards and Conference 2022
Glen Callum Associates Ltd were recognised at the esteemed Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federations (IAAF) ‘Pride of the Aftermarket’ awards ceremony last night. The leading automotive aftermarket permanent recruitment business was nominated for Service Member of the Year.
Having worked in the industry for over 23 years the team were delighted to be nominated for the award.
Here is our take on how the day unfolds……
The Glen Callum Management Team attended the one-day event in Milton Keynes in December, which kicked off with a conference and concluded with a dinner and glittering awards ceremony. With a huge evening attendance of over 600 fellow aftermarket professionals, the IAAF conference and dinner was a resounding success and when the serious business was concluded the long-awaited ‘catching up’ with fellow industry peers (as well as the partying) was enjoyed by many until the early hours!
The conference allowed IAAF service members the opportunity to showcase their businesses by hosting a ‘service village’. The GCA team used this opportunity to launch their latest recruitment initiative ‘The Aftermarket Talent Club’. The Talent Club has been designed by GCA to assist senior level professionals to uncover new and next-level career opportunities within the automotive aftermarket with the aim to keep top talent within the sector.
The conference itself boasted an impressive line-up of speakers delivering to the delegates industry data and updates on the latest trends, as well as an insight into where the industry is headed in 2023. The highlight for the GCA team however was meeting former SAS Soldier, sniper and paratrooper Robin Horsfall who delivered an impressive keynote speech, meeting the conference theme of ‘Overcoming adversity and the path to a prosperous future’.
Once the conference had concluded it was time for the GCA team, alongside 600 other IAAF members, to don their glad rags and mingle again with their fellow industry colleagues.
There were 6 awards in total up for grabs: Distributor of the Year – Car – sponsored by Febi Bilstein, Supplier of the Year – Car – sponsored by Elcome, Distributor of the Year – CV – sponsored by Varta Batteries, Supplier of the Year – CV – sponsored by Boswell Aftermarket, Outstanding Achievement – sponsored by Glen Callum Associates and finally Service Member of the Year – sponsored by GSF Group
Kerrie Richards, Director of Glen Callum Associates commented “We were proud to be nominated for the prestigious Pride of the Aftermarket Service member award by the IAAF. We strive to be the best we can be and are fully dedicated to giving good service to the automotive aftermarket industry, and its members. To be recognised by our clients, the IAAF, and the industry members as a top partner is truly an honour. We missed out on the top spot this time, which is obviously disappointing for the team who work so hard; however it gives us impetus to work on new projects and to continue with our aftermarket initiatives and hopefully we will be front runners for the awards in 2023”.
To conclude, the IAAF Annual Conference and Awards Dinner was a success and the GCA team will be returning again next year with a hope of taking back to their head office a much deserved award!
