What does a candidate recruitment journey look like?
Have you ever wondered what the candidate recruitment process looks like?
We understand that taking the first step in job hunting can be daunting. However, with the right support and an awareness of what the process entails, candidates can position themselves well to kickstart the next stage of their career.
We’re here to assist candidates at every stage of their recruitment journey and address the most frequently asked questions we receive from candidates below.
Q1 – How do I register with Glen Callum Associates?
Send a copy of your CV to us via email or via our website. It’s useful if you include any information that you think could assist us as recruiters. For example, your ideal commuting distance, or salary requirements, or preference on hybrid working. Anything that defines what you are looking for in a role will help us grasp a better understanding of your requirements and find the right role for you.
Q2- What happens when I have registered or forwarded a CV to Glen Callum Associates?
Once your CV or registration information has been received then your details will be matched against our current job opportunities.
Should you match with a job role immediately then you will be notified by the relevant consultant and the recruiter will talk to you in detail about the vacant position and the next stage of the process.
Q3- What happens if I do not match with any of your current opportunities?
Should your details not match with a current job opportunity then your CV information will be entered onto our database and retained for potential future matches. A recruitment consultant will contact you as soon as a position is available that suits your skills, abilities, and requirements.
Our recruiters may also contact you, and with your permission, work with you to present your CV to potential companies who are not currently advertising vacancies, but could view your CV with interest and may have the opportunity to create a role for you within their organisation.
Q4 – What about my CV? Is it safe – what do you do with it?
Rest assured that your information is held securely on our system and will be treated in the strictest of confidence. We won’t forward your CV to anyone without having detailed discussions with you and obtaining your consent.
Q5 – Is there a cost involved with using Glen Callum Associates?
No, there is absolutely no cost at all for our candidates; none of the services we provide incur any charges and any advice we give to jobseekers is completely free.
Q6 – What happens next? Will I get an interview with a recruiter?
Our recruiters will screen interview you via a call when we have a role that we feel could be of interest to you. This call will allow us to ascertain if the role is right for you or if you are right for the role.
This also gives us the opportunity to provide you with detailed information on the job, company, and client’s expectations, and it gives you the opportunity to ask questions on the role.
We don’t interview all our jobseekers at the CV submission stage, as this would be a poor use of both of our time; instead we prefer to have those discussions when we can speak to you about a real role that we are looking to fill.
Q7- Do you send my CV out to clients and when do I hear about an opportunity?
If we are currently working on a vacancy that aligns with your interests, or if we are aware of a company seeking a candidate with your skills and attributes, one of our recruiters will promptly reach out to discuss the role and ensure that you are comfortable with us forwarding your CV.
We do not send any CVs to clients without your prior authorisation and acknowledgment.
Q8 – How long will it take before you get back to me with a job?
We are continuously working new roles and collaborating with clients on their recruitment strategies every day. The landscape of recruitment is constantly evolving, and the availability of roles can vary due to numerous factors. However, once we receive a role that aligns with your interests, rest assured, we will promptly reach out to you.
Q9 – Do you offer interview support?
Yes, we will guide you through the interview process so you know exactly what to expect, who you will see, and when.
We will also offer you support during the process and will be your sounding board for any questions you may have. What’s more, we will be the broker between you and the client, should you have further questions after the interview is concluded.
Q10 – If I am successful, who will make the job offer?
After the interview process concludes, we will guide you through the offer stage, handling any negotiations and coordinating with you and the client regarding the notice period.
While most clients prefer us to make the job offer, some may choose to do this directly. Regardless, please feel free to reach out with any questions, and we’ll do our utmost to provide answers. If we’re unable to do so, we’ll endeavour to obtain the information from the client on your behalf.
