Jaguar Land Rover to secure 2700 Jobs at Birmingham with Massive Investment for Electric XJ
Positive news here in the West Midlands as automotive manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover announce a huge investment to its Castle Bromwich plant which following a refocus, will be the hub of JLRs electric vehicle push.
The Castle Bromwich JLR plant will start working on an Electric version of the one of their most popular models, the Jaguar XJ. JLR are yet to announce when the Electric version of the XJ will be launched however it has been reported that the new Electric XJ will replace the petrol and diesel versions that have been manufactured since 1968.
2700 jobs safe despite Brexit
This investment of hundreds of millions of pounds in the Birmingham site will secure 2,700 jobs and comes at a time when previous warnings by the automotive manufacturer would be upended by Brexit in particular a “no-deal” Brexit. Continue reading full article
