(Also answers to: Recruiter. Karaoke Crooner. Lifelong Wolves Fan.)
With over 25 years of rolling up his sleeves in the automotive aftermarket and engineering recruitment world, Glen Shepherd is a recognised name in the industry. As Co-Founder and Director of Glen Callum Associates, Glen is still very much on the tools (metaphorically speaking), actively headhunting senior talent, mentoring recruiters, and generally making things happen.
He’s also the driving force behind the Aftermarket Talent Club for high-calibre professionals earning £70K+ who are ready for their next big move.
Glen trains every new recruiter who joins GCA and still collaborates with the old hands, keeping standards sky-high and ensuring the team lives and breathes what GCA stands for: deep industry knowledge, integrity, and always putting clients and candidates first (even before the first coffee of the day).
Known throughout the aftermarket industry, Glen has built a far-reaching network that spans the UK and beyond—connecting with senior execs, rising stars, and just about anyone who matters. If you’re in the aftermarket, chances are you already know Glen—or someone who success can be traced back to his guidance.
But Glen’s not just about filling roles—he’s passionate about elevating the industry. He’s the guy you’ll see hosting webinars, leading seminars, and reminding everyone that the aftermarket isn’t just “spanners and spark plugs.” It’s data, diagnostics, digital transformation, EV tech, leadership—and a £21 billion UK sector that deserves a spotlight.
Glen’s interview style is equal parts spontaneous, insightful, and occasionally surprising. If you think you’ve nailed your elevator pitch, wait until Glen presses the “open questions” button.
Once a professional footballer with Port Vale FC (yes, really), Glen played semi-pro until his early 30s before hanging up his boots and pouring that competitive energy into recruitment, family life, and community work. He’s now a proud dad of two teenage boys, and a devout Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter.
Home base is a scenic countryside village where Glen wears many hats: dad, trustee of the village hub, social event ringleader, and patio party planner-in-chief. And don’t even get him started on karaoke—unless you’ve got time for a full-throttle rendition of “Sweet Caroline” (audience participation mandatory).
Glen brings humour and humanity to everything he does—whether he’s guiding a candidate through a life-changing career move or belting out Neil Diamond to a crowd of tipsy villagers.
