Glen Callum host the MMMA Autumn Meeting with Mach2020 on the agenda…
Once again Glen Callum Associates hosted the MMMA Council meeting providing an excellent opportunity for members to network and discuss industry updates.
Glen and the Glen Callum team welcomed members of The Metal forming Machinery Makers’ Association (MMMA) to the Red House Glass Cone in Stourbridge, where the Glen Callum Associates’ recruitment offices are based, for the Autumn council meeting.
The MMMA is a UK Association committed to promoting companies involved in the manufacture and sale of metal forming machinery and ancillary products to the sheet metal forming industry. Services are designed to make the sector more competitive and range from support on the latest legislation, training opportunities and recruitment advice to subsidised exhibition space at MACH and regular promotion of the UK market to enable overseas investment including joint ventures and export opportunities. The dedication and support the MMMA gives to members ensures they can thrive in the international marketplace.
In 2018, Glen Callum Associates partnered with the MMMA to assist the members in developing their recruitment strategies to help them engage with today’s passive candidate market. Utilising Glen Callum Associates’ 21 years of automotive, engineering and technical recruitment expertise, GCA have already assisted a number of members in recruiting the very best commercial, engineering and technical staff for their businesses. The advice the GCA team gives members on recruitment ensures they are forefront in attracting talent for all their recruitment needs as well as the “difficult to recruit” roles such as Service Engineers and Tooling Engineers, where the current candidate pool is tight and their are known skill shortages.
During the meeting MMMA members discussed upcoming events including next year’s MACH 2020 which is set to be the biggest MACH show yet and will take place from the 20th to the 24th of April at the NEC Birmingham. You can read more on MACH2020 here.
Following the networking lunch a product demonstration session was held where members of the MMMA could meet with potential suppliers and see their products in action. Phil Parkes, Regional Sales Manager (North) and Chris Hadden, Regional Sales Manager (South) from Kent Europe demonstrated a portfolio of their consumables designed to make engineers jobs quicker and easier, ultimately saving time and money.
Kent Europe provide a wide range of consumable products into the automotive, industry and marine sector. If you would like to view more of the Kent Europe range, you can visit their website here: https://www.kenteurope.com/
Anton Chalk, Sales and Marketing Director and Steve Sim, Sales Manager from J&S Products sited their ToolTruck on the premises and provided members with an opportunity to view their stock range and answer questions on the products they can supply.

The Glen Callum Associates recruitment team once again enjoyed hosting and the day was deemed positive for all. The team relished the opportunity to share info with members and catch up with industry news and views. The council meeting is the ideal platform for members to share knowledge and discuss the industries current and future challenges and the key takeaway from this meeting was that UK Manufacturing is still continuing its successes; regardless of the uncertainty of Brexit, newspaper headlines and the current skills shortages throughout the industry.
