Kasey lands a role with KEMETYL UK Ltd
Good News for Kasey as She Secures a New Career Opportunity with KEMETYL UK Ltd
At Glen Callum Associates, there’s nothing more rewarding than helping talented people find the right long-term career opportunity, especially during periods of uncertainty.
This month, we’re delighted to celebrate Kasey Leigh Myers securing an exciting new role with KEMETYL UK Ltd, a leading business within the automotive aftermarket and consumer car care sector, specialising in the manufacturing, sales, marketing and distribution of automotive fluids and car care products.
As the automotive aftermarket continues to evolve and grow, businesses like KEMETYL are investing in ambitious talent capable of supporting innovation, commercial growth and customer success. Kasey proved to be exactly the kind of person they were looking for.
From Redundancy to a Fresh Career Opportunity
Kasey was already known to Glen Callum Associates following a successful placement several years ago. Unfortunately, following organisational restructuring and cost-reduction measures within her previous business, she suddenly found herself facing redundancy and career uncertainty, a situation many talented professionals experience through no fault of their own.
Rather than simply looking for “another job,” Kasey wanted to secure a role that genuinely aligned with her skills, career ambitions and long-term potential. Having previously worked with Glen Callum Associates, she reached out to us for support and guidance during her job search.
At exactly the right time, we had just received a new recruitment brief from KEMETYL following an internal promotion within their UK team. The business was searching for an ambitious, commercially minded individual who could support future growth plans while fitting naturally into their close-knit, people-focused culture.
Looking Beyond Industry Experience
KEMETYL were not simply looking for somebody who ticked boxes on a CV.
They wanted someone who would strengthen the culture, energy and dynamic of the UK team — a business unit recognised for its strong team spirit and supportive working environment.
Having partnered with KEMETYL previously, we already understood the personalities, expectations and culture within the business. This enabled Glen Callum Associates to conduct a highly targeted search-and-selection campaign using our specialist automotive aftermarket recruitment network.
Our recruitment process focused on four critical areas:
- Availability and career motivation
- Genuine interest in KEMETYL and the opportunity
- Commercial capability and transferable skills
- Long-term cultural and team fit
Interestingly, Kasey did not come directly from a traditional automotive aftermarket retail background. She had no previous experience within the consumer car care sector and had not previously managed large retail or wholesale automotive distribution accounts.
On paper, this could easily have ruled her out.
Why Transferable Skills Matter in Recruitment
What Kasey did possess, however, was something equally valuable: transferable skills, resilience and the right attitude.
Having worked with her previously, we already knew she brought exceptional professionalism, communication skills, analytical capability and a highly organised approach to her work.
Her experience managing large product ranges, pricing files, sales analysis and data-driven reporting immediately demonstrated strong commercial capability. Combined with her enthusiasm, adaptability and positive mindset, it became clear that she had all the foundations required to succeed within the role.
Equally important was her cultural fit.
Kasey brought energy, flexibility and a collaborative attitude — qualities that aligned perfectly with KEMETYL’s supportive and ambitious team environment.
Ultimately, her mindset and transferable skills outweighed the lack of direct sector experience.
And that made all the difference.
A Thorough Recruitment and Interview Process
Kasey successfully progressed through a comprehensive three-stage interview process.
The journey began with Glen Callum Associates’ “Meet the Employer” session — a dynamic introductory interview involving both ourselves and the KEMETYL hiring team. This was followed by a face-to-face interview at the company’s UK headquarters before progressing to a final international interview with global HR via video conference.
Like many recruitment processes, there were moments where circumstances outside everyone’s control caused delays during the offer stage. Throughout the process, Kasey remained professional, patient and fully committed.
She instinctively knew KEMETYL was the right long-term home for her career.
Supporting Candidates Through Career Change
During the recruitment process, we developed a genuine understanding of the uncertainty Kasey had experienced following redundancy. That made the final outcome even more rewarding when we were able to confirm her successful appointment with KEMETYL UK Ltd.
Moments like these are a reminder that recruitment, when done properly, can genuinely change lives, rebuild confidence and create exciting new career opportunities.
KEMETYL: A People-Focused Automotive Aftermarket Employer
KEMETYL deserve enormous credit for recognising potential beyond direct industry experience.
Their willingness to invest in transferable skills, personality fit and long-term development says a great deal about the culture they have built within the organisation.
The company provides employees with a genuine opportunity to grow, develop and build rewarding careers within a supportive and forward-thinking business environment.
Kasey brought resilience, enthusiasm, professionalism and belief throughout the process — and KEMETYL recognised that potential.
A fantastic outcome for everyone involved.
Congratulations Kasey! Everyone at GCA wishes you every success in your new career journey with KEMETYL UK Ltd.
