An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer seeking a Technical Sales opportunity. Our client is a market leading supplier of clamping solutions for manufacturing machinery. They are renowned for the quality, service and technical support they offer their customers.

Due to retirement, they are seeking a Sales Engineer to join their successful UK team, covering the Midlands. Product and Sales training will be provided.

The Candidate

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will utilise your engineering knowledge to develop relationships with key customers across Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial and Manufacturing industries.

  • You will be educated in Mechanical Engineering, this could be an apprenticeship, HND or degree level.
  • Coupled with a proven history in mechanical roles, ideally focussing on manufacturing industries such as aerospace, automotive or industrial.
  • Previous experience of workholding or clamping equipment is advantageous, although not essential.
  • You will be a strong, confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with customers, utilising your engineering knowledge and experience to leverage these relationships.
  • Our ideal candidate will have some experience within a commercial environment or be interested in making a step into a Sales role whilst utilising and retaining their technical knowledge.
  • Willingness to learn and develop is a must!
  • You will be a team player – our clients business has a family-feel to it, they are a small, highly focussed and successful team that work well together.

The Role

  • Develop and maintain sales of clamping solutions for manufacturing industries.
  • Provide quotations and contribute to technical and commercial negotiations.
  • Manage projects and provide customers with on-going technical support and training.
  • Conduct research and develop a healthy new business pipeline.
  • Provide market information, forecasts and market studies.
  • Liaise with German HQ.
