Robot Programmer – Automotive Manufacturer

An automotive component supplier who are going through a substantial amount of growth require a Robot Programmer to develop multiple programs for automated assembly applications in respect of new product introduction (NPI). The ideal candidate can be either experienced or a graduate with a degree in a Mechatronics, Automation or Robotics discipline. (external training is provided)

West Midlands – Commutable from Coventry, Redditch, Shirley, Solihull, Birmingham, Warwick

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 p.a. + Pension + Free Parking

The Candidate

  • A Degree in Mechatronics, Automation or Robotics is essential to this position.
  • Experienced candidates should have previous experience working in fast paced automotive manufacturing preferably within a just in time (JIT) environment but not restricted to graduates with a relevant degree and level of competency.
  • Experience with Nachi robotic programming is desirable but other manufacturers of Robotics will be considered as full training with be provided.
  • Experience of AIVs (Autonomous Intelligent Vehicles) is advantageous. (MIR or Omron)
  • An understanding of offline programming techniques and software is essential.

The Role – Robot Programmer

  • Reporting to the Program Engineering Manager , the Robot Programmer role is at the cutting edge of next generation automated manufacturing in automotive – Mechatronics, Automation and Robotics are certainly the markets to watch in the coming years.
  • You will develop multiple programs for automated assembly
  • Spend time off site with relevant suppliers to support programmes, manage and develop programmes throughout the build phases.
  • You will work closely with the suppliers on the design and maturation of automated
  • Use of offline programming techniques and software will be a key part of this role.
