OEM Key Account Manager

Automotive / Passenger Car

An OEM Key Account Manager – Ford is required to join the automotive / passenger car team of a market-leading manufacturer of automotive and industrial components.  The OEM Key Account Manager will provide account management and develop sales into Ford.

The Candidate

  • Experience of operating in a key account management / sales role, preferably within an automotive OEM manufacturing environment or OEM component manufacturing business targeted at the automotive, passenger car sector.
  • Our client seeks an individual equally balanced with a strong technical aptitude whilst also possessing solid commercial and sales skills and an ability to influence managers, buyers, engineers and stakeholders at all levels
  • Our ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an Engineering or Business-related subject.
  • Proven, successful experience of working with Ford is a must. As is, knowledge of Ford systems and procedures like APQP, PPAP, FSN.
  • You will have an appreciation for CAD systems e.g. CATIA, Pro-Engineer or Unigraphics.
  • Project management experience is essential.
  • An understanding of quality management systems, TS16949 is required.
  • Personal attributes should include: the ability to lead whilst also displaying a hands-on approach; organised; negotiation skills; work well under pressure; flexibility; the ability to identify problems and provide solutions; a strong communicator; pro-active with a positive attitude.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Global Sales, the OEM Key Account Manager – Ford will take responsibility for the management and growth of the Ford of Europe account, including:

  • Keeping communication open with key contacts at Dunton and Dagenham (e.g. purchasing, engineering, accounting, logistics, etc.) and conducting regular visits to both sites.
  • Become the lead person for all UK based projects.
  • Prepare customer quotations, breakdowns and other written documents.
  • Obtain documents and information (specifications, standards, customer trial results, market information etc.) required for the development of business.
  • Support with practical solutions to any quality questions or issues.
  • Develop a detailed customer strategy for Ford and prepare short- and long-term plans.
  • Conduct price negotiations for new, ongoing and mass production products.
  • Participate in the annual Ford Workshop.
  • This role will require travel to support Global Ford business.
