Head of Commercial / Technical Sales

We are looking to recruit an experienced Head of Sales / senior Business Development Manager / Head of Commercial / Head of Technical to be the voice of the UK business unit on behalf of one of the world’s largest Automotive Consulting and research institutes for developing powertrain systems, combustion engines and vehicle electrification drivetrain applications. Our client is the world’s largest independent company for development, simulation and testing technology of powertrains for passenger cars, truck and large engines. They develop and improve all kinds of powertrain system and are a trusted partner to the engine and automotive industry. Their engine instrumentation and test systems cover all the instruments and systems required for engine and vehicle testing.

The Role

The role will report directly to the Head of Sales and will focus heavily on developing and maintaining harmonious relationships with key customers to gain market intelligence and expose sales leads. The purpose of this role is to be the face of the UK for our client’s customers whilst actively seeking and pursuing sales leads with a consultative approach.

The Candidate

Our ideal candidate will come from a Technical Sales / Key Account Management background within automotive engineering or automotive manufacturing and possess the commercial pedigree to work proactively and close sales. If you can bring a successful track record of selling Technical Solutions into OEM’s / Vehicle Manufacturers this will be considered impressive for starters. An ability to present to individuals at all levels from stakeholder to powertrain engineers will be an important element of the job. Previous key account management and business development experience operating at head office and senior buyer level will be integral along with a demonstrable successful sales record.

Our ideal individual will also possess strong personal qualities and attributes along with solid pc skills (common Microsoft applications)
