Global OEM Account Manager

Off Hi-Way / Heavy Duty / Construction / Automotive

A Global OEM Account Manager is required for a world class manufacturer and supplier of heavy-duty exhausts and emissions systems / components. This role will interface directly with leading OEM’s covering off-highway machinery, construction machines, agricultural and commercial vehicles. Increasing sales through business development and securing new projects internationally is integral to the role.

Our client is a global manufacturer of exhaust and emissions control systems / components. They are at the forefront of R&D, working with all major off highway and construction machinery producers on an international scale.

To aid their continued growth an exciting opportunity exists for a professional and experienced Global Account Manager to head up commercial activities, grow sales and increase new projects for the business internationally.

The Role

  • To be the interface of the business with major OEM accounts consisting of off highway manufacturers, construction machinery OEM’s, agricultural and commercial vehicle OEM sectors.
  • Lead the global commercial team and work with technical and project engineers to increase sales and harmonise international projects aiding conformity.
  • Be the face of the business working as the conduit between commercial, technical product engineering and project teams.
  • Visit customers world wide on a regular basis.
  • Communicate effectively across the business ensuring clear communication channels remain clear and defined.
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of the market, competitors and customer developments
  • Keep abreast of the company’s overall activities, strategy, goals and overall financial performance.
  • Collaboratively manage the global accounts team regularly reviewing performance and team initiatives.
  • Implement and drive change where required.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Significant account management experience gained in developing sales and increasing business levels with major OEM’s, particularly within the Off Highway and Construction equipment sectors or similar.
  • Skilled in selling technical / commercial propositions and gaining commitment from key stakeholders / directors.
  • Strong and robust commercial acumen is an essential quality. Whilst technical is desired an emphasis on commercial elements is key.
  • Previous experience of selling heavy duty exhausts / emissions related products / solutions / systems is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to install trust through growing, cultivating and nurturing long term relationships is key to the success of this role.
  • An engineering degree would be desirable alongside a senior business qualification.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Advanced project management experience
  • Advanced sales and negotiation skills
  • Commercially astute, with an understanding of key areas such as forecasting, costing, contribution margin and working capital.
  • Flexible to travel internationally when required to meet the needs of the business.
