Catalogue Analyst / Catalogue Developer

A Catalogue Analyst is required to join the Product and Marketing team for an extremely successful automotive company based within the West Midlands.

To develop, improve and maintain the electronic catalogues of various major brands, combining high quality data analysis with detailed research on vehicle applications and components. To ensure consistent, accurate and quality catalogue production. The role would suit a senior automotive parts person with experience in a franchise dealer or a busy parts distributor.

Due to continued growth they have a position for a Catalogue Analyst to enhance their team.

The Role

  • Combine data from multiple sources to improve and expand catalogue information.
  • Generate additional product information and fitment notes through research and analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in Catalogue production and focus on opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyse data from multiple competitors and suppliers for cross reference purposes to highlight gap in range maintaining and keeping our catalogue up to date.
  • Compare information to established vehicle indexes e.g TecDoc, MAM, Headline etc.
  • Utilise a variety of sources including Vehicle Manufacturers catalogues and reports providing vehicle parc data to identify additional applications and new opportunities for range development.
  • Identify and resolve errors within the catalogue and develop solutions to prevent future anomalies.
  • Work with all relevant company departments and products teams to gather information and assist in projects involving e-business.
  • Investigate product queries via external websites, suppliers and the distribution network to improve the catalogue.
  • Ideal for an individual with a strong automotive parts background.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will require the following:

  • Excellent analytical, IT Skills and adaptable to new software.
  • The ability to innovate database solutions
  • Advanced Excel using V-Look up and Pivot tables
  • Experience working with large sets of data, including product catalogues
  • Ability to analyse information, good attention to detail
  • Confidence
  • Ability to use self-initiative

Preferential Skills

  • Dealing with automotive products including technical information
  • Knowledge of automotive catalogues and the automotive aftermarket.
  • Have worked as a Senior Parts Person in a dealership or parts distributor.
  • Deadline driven project work.
