Business Development Manager

Automotive Vehicle Diagnostic Software

Are you experienced selling Diagnostic Tools or Software?  Do you have a good understanding of Automotive Electrical Diagnostics? Are you an accomplished business hunter with a passion for selling?

We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious Business Development Manager to join a global consultancy specialising in luxury sports cars and dealing with major Vehicle Manufacturers to sell their range of Vehicle Diagnostic Software and Technical Publications. They wish to increase their market in Advanced Diagnostics, Augmented Reality and Digital Manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong sales focus and have experience as a Business Development Manager / sales developer selling to Vehicle Manufacturers, the Automotive Aftermarket service and garage sector and have Automotive Diagnostic knowledge.

Located within commute of Coventry, Rugby, Northampton, Crick, Leamington Spa, Leicester, Warwick, Stratford upon Avon

The Role

  • Manage your allocated territory.
  • Proactively drive and push sales to achieve results and maintain accounts for future business development.
  • Develop existing accounts to expand business and open up new sales opportunities.
  • To target new potential business and promote and sell the products to Vehicle Manufacturers, Vehicle Builders, the Automotive Aftermarket and service sector.
  • Present, communicate and sell the products at all levels within the customer’s network.
  • Covering the UK territory with occasional travel to  Europe and the USA.

Person Specification

  • Technically minded sales professional with good knowledge of selling Vehicle Diagnostics tools or diagnostic software solutions.
  • Have an understanding of the Vehicle Manufacturer network, Automotive Aftermarket and the Service Sector.
  • Have the technical knowledge to target and sell to the market and achieve a good sales return.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Calm and confident in pressurised selling and negotiating situations.
  • A good strategist who can plan, relationship build and present at management level.
  • Good PC literacy is essential. (Microsoft Office).
  • Have experience in manufacturing or selling to manufacturers.
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Technical Publications or PLM and SLM would be an advantage.
