Are you a Senior Technical Sales Manager or Technical Business Development Manager with experience of selling or specifying chemical applications into industry?

We are looking to recruit a top level, experienced speciality chemical sales specialist to grow sales and increase market share for a leading, UK chemicals supply specialist. This is an exciting and newly created role and the successful candidate will enjoy the autonomy to develop business, working closely with the company owner and MD to exploit both existing and new routes to market.

We are particularly keen to hear from individuals that have experience of selling oleochemicals, esters or surfactants across a wide variety of industry sectors. Specific experience of selling to cosmetics manufacturers, PVC or rubber compounders would be exceptionally interesting.

Preferably you will have significant exposure and experience in…

  • Selling or specifying speciality chemicals such as oleochemicals, esters, surfactants and fatty acids / alcohols.
  • Chemical manufacturing processes and an understanding chemical applications.
  • Experience in developing customers and selling speciality chemicals in a face to face commercial environment.
  • Experience of developing key accounts within the bulk and packed speciality chemicals market.
  • Experience identifying potential new suppliers of speciality chemicals that might complement our existing portfolio.
  • Complex product applications and pricing strategies based upon commitment and volume.
  • Positively influencing senior buyers, decision makers and business heads.
  • Providing technical support and advice to customers on products and applications.
  • Deploying sales and marketing development plans to win business from competitors.
  • Monitoring competitor activity to ensure the business remains competitive and conducive to the market.
  • Influencing internal business functions including sales support, marketing and pricing

personnel along with supply base and procurement.

  • Assessing, utilising and manipulating large amounts of data & information.
  • Financial management, robust with an ability to maximise margin and profit opportunities through intelligent selling.
