So you’ve presented a professional and super selling hot CV, but how do you get your CV noticed?

As a jobseeker you are easily able to utilise the plentiful advice out there on writing CV’s but how do you ensure your CV gets read and ultimately you stand out?

Read on for top tips on what to do to get noticed post CV.

DO write a covering letter or email – it highlights you are serious and demonstrates your work ethic!

DO use creativity – ensure your covering letter grabs your readers attention.

DO match your skills and experience to the advert and brag – make it snappy though, not war and peace.

DO research online job boards – which ones are advertising the roles that will fit you? Ensure you register your details with them, all of them – NOW.

DO follow up on your applications – give the employer or agency a call, make the effort, ensure you stand out!

DO ensure you put as much information as possible into your registration – adding in key words such as job titles are key to you being spotted in searches.

DO ensure your contact details are registered – You would be surprised how many STAND OUT candidates can’t be contacted.

DO ensure you are active on social networking sites – keep your activity professional and network!

DO register with recruitment agencies – check out the REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) website or similar ethical recruitment trade organisations to ensure you use ethical recruiters.

DO utilise your recruiter – keep in contact with them, ensure you make them fully aware of your job expectations. Telephone works well for building relationships and maintaining regular contact.

DO speak confidentially with family, friends, potential work contacts – ensure they are aware you are looking – it’s not just what you know!

DO gain feedback – speak with recruiters and employers and find out about your competition – Do you need extra skills, qualifications, experience?

Making the effort now with your job search ensures you are top of the pile in standing out and landing your dream job!

Good luck with getting noticed and GET HIRED!
