Happy International Women’s Day 2021! Celebrating the Automotive Industry’s Most Inspirational Women
Women play a significant part within the Glen Callum Team with 50% of our Senior positions held by Women. We’re committed to promoting equality and are encouraged by the achievements of other successful women across the Automotive sector.
Hence at Glen Callum Associates we are proud to celebrate international women’s day and will be putting our hands together to applaud the achievements of some great female ambassadors of the automotive sector.
Did you know the first windscreen wiper was invented by a women? A little trivia for you! Patented in 1903, Mary Anderson realised there must be a better way for trolley drivers to wipe a windscreen than having to get out of their vehicle, so she designed the first manual leaver that could be operated from inside.
We’ve come on a long way since those days, both with automotive technology and sexual equality, and there have been so many more hugely inspirational women throughout the years that it would be a difficult task to list them all or indeed to pick out a favourite. However speaking as a women that has been working in the automotive industry for over 20 years, and who has been inspired by fellow female colleagues, clients and candidates, I am delighted to say that I am proud of the support the industry gives to all genders. I have witnessed truly deserved women rising to success in executive posts, leading the way for the next generation.
With International Womens Day 2021 almost upon us we decided it was an apt time to share the list of winners for the “Inspiring Automotive Women within the UK Automotive Industry” and showcase their achievements. The awards highlight the current winners, and by celebrating their success we hope that many more women will choose a career within the automotive industry.
