GCA’s ‘Our Aftermarket’ Campaign Continues with Inspiring Insights from Steve Jarnet of Corteco UK
Glen Callum Associates has released the third episode in its impactful ‘Our Aftermarket’ video series, this time spotlighting Steve Jarnet, National Sales Manager at Corteco UK.
The ongoing campaign was developed to challenge outdated perceptions of the sector and celebrate the real career opportunities available across the UK’s £21 billion aftermarket industry. From logistics and leadership to digital transformation and product development, the series uncovers the many varied paths that exist within this fast-paced, people-focused sector.
In this latest episode, Steve reflects on his own career journey, from early hands-on roles to his current leadership position, sharing valuable lessons learned along the way. Known for his people-first approach, Steve discusses the importance of empathy, ethics, and integrity in building long-term success in the trade.
“You can have a fantastic career in the aftermarket, whether you’re on the tools or not,” says Jarnet. “If you have the right values, the right ethics, and you treat people properly, the industry can give back tenfold. That’s been my experience.”
Throughout the conversation, Steve highlights the power of relationship-building, consistency, and a genuine desire to support others, whether customers, colleagues, or partners. He also speaks directly to newcomers, urging them not to underestimate the potential the aftermarket holds for those willing to work hard and stay curious.
“The opportunities are huge,” he explains. “But it’s not just about technical ability. It’s about your attitude, your willingness to learn, and how you interact with people. This industry rewards those who stick at it and treat others with respect.”
Glen Shepherd, Director at GCA and host of the series, added: “With every episode, we’re not just sharing stories—we’re shining a light on the values, ambition and people that make this industry what it is. Steve’s interview reminds us that success in the aftermarket is about much more than technical skill—it’s about how you lead, how you connect, and how you grow.”
The ‘Our Aftermarket’ campaign continues to position the sector as a career destination of choice, one built on innovation, opportunity, and real human connection. As GCA prepares for future episodes, the team is encouraging professionals across the trade to get involved and share their stories.
