We are looking to recruit a great Field Service Engineer to work with an existing network of customers throughout the UK.

We are keen to hear from individuals with a mechanical service pedigree in electrical / mechanical engineering disciplines, adopting a hands on approach to their service work. Maybe you are currently servicing mechanical equipment across the automotive, engineering or industrial sectors? Or even perhaps in allied areas, such as materials handling equipment, forklift trucks, commercial vehicles, agricultural machinery or off highway / earth moving equipment?

Retaining existing customers is key….

Field based, this job needs flexibility and will sometimes require extensive travel across the Midlands and other parts of the UK, along with frequent travel to their Midlands HQ. The role is to predominantly support and cater for the needs of existing customers, assisting / advising on MRO, replacement product / solutions in addition to attaining and undertaking general service work along with routine maintenance schedules.

What would tick our boxes?

  • Technical and hands on expertise working with complex mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Previous experience in commissioning, installing, repairing and servicing capital equipment in an engineering or automotive capacity.
  • A mechanical aptitude in rebuilding machinery and diagnosing problems deploying corrective actions.
  • Excellent relationship building skills able to communicate effectively at all levels from factory floor to board room.
  • Recognise incremental sales opportunities in the field with existing customers.
  • A HNC / HND level or above in a mechanical / engineering discipline would be distinctly advantageous.

A Head of Sales & Marketing / Senior Sales & Marketing Manager is required within the UK to grow sales globally into low volume high end automotive OEM’s, luxury car producers and the retro-fit automotive industry / motorsports and aftermarket sectors.

Our client manufactures and develops high specification braking components and friction materials to meet and exceed the expectations for low volume, high performance vehicle manufacturers, the luxury car market and motorsport / fast road applications, including an established aftermarket / retro-fit business.  

Continued expansion and significant investment of their manufacturing capabilities has engaged serious interest from global vehicle producers in high end vehicle marques and fast road applications resulting in the company securing several prestigious contracts for exclusive supply.  

To steer this continued growth trend, we are looking to hire a dedicated and passionate Head of Sales and Marketing a Senior Sales & Marketing Manager to develop their OEM activities and established aftermarket retro-fit business.

The key points…

The role has two key responsibilities, the first will be to engage and further grow the company’s global OEM business. Their products are high end specification with optimum performance so key OEM business will be the low volume high performance players and the luxury car market. The second part of the challenge will be increase and grow their already established global distributor and retro-fit business which largely consist specialist motorsport distributors, tuning specialists and the serious speed enthusiasts. The business also has interests in other adjacent market sectors which would also fall into this remit.

This role is senior executive appointment and reports directly into the CEO.

In an ideal world…

Ideally if you have experience in selling and marketing technically advanced components or high-end car technologies to automotive OEM’s, luxury car manufacturers or motorsport engineering sectors then this would be of distinct interest. Knowledge of the motorsport sector and fast road market would also be key as the business has developed a healthy international presence within the motorsport distributor and retailer channels. We require a driven individual with strong commercial acumen with an ability to increase sales, develop marketing initiatives and control profit.

Equally our ideal person will have the knowledge and skill to increase sales volumes through 3rd party distributors and understand the mechanics of motivating distributors to increase their sales activity and focus on specific product groups.

Finally, we require a charismatic individual who is able to lead from the front, work autonomously and embrace change

The Role

The Candidate

Our ideal candidate will come from a Technical Sales / Key Account Management background within automotive engineering or automotive manufacturing and possess the commercial pedigree to work proactively and close sales. If you can bring a successful track record of selling Technical Solutions into OEM’s / Vehicle Manufacturers this will be considered impressive for starters. An ability to present to individuals at all levels from stakeholder to powertrain engineers will be an important element of the job. Previous key account management and business development experience operating at head office and senior buyer level will be integral along with a demonstrable successful sales record.

Our ideal individual will also possess strong personal qualities and attributes along with solid pc skills (common Microsoft applications)
