As a Toolmaker, your responsibilities will be:

To support the manufacturing department with an effective tool spares and maintenance service.

Responsibilities:

  • To repair and /or maintain all production tooling.
  • To carry out specific process development tasks as/when required.
  • To support the design, build/modification of new/existing manufacturing tooling as/when required.
  • To support manufacturing in achieving customer satisfaction, quality and production output targets.
  • Ensure that production tooling is repaired and refurbished as necessary within the limits of the tool room capabilities.
  • Ensure sufficient stocks of in house manufactured spares are maintained including electrodes and welding blocks
  • Produce and repair manual-style welding jigs as requested.

The Candidate:

  • Served a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • NVQ level 3 Engineering machining.
  • Ability to operate basic Tool room machinery.

  • Negotiate contracts with carriers for cost effective delivery of stock.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have experience motivating, managing and training a warehouse operations team.
  • Hands-on approach and support the team where required.
  • The ability to build and maintain good relationships with all colleagues at every position.
  • High level of organisational abilities, ensuring there is enough coverage to facilitate the daily requirements.
  • Have a good level of PC literacy and knowledge of Microsoft office. (Experience with MAM Software isn’t essential but could be beneficial)
  • Have a flexible approach to work.
  • A can-do attitude making sure daily tasks are concluded by close of trading.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety standards.
