Our client is a leading supplier of automotive parts and components to independent distributors throughout the UK and European aftermarkets to the Automotive Aftermarket.

We require a Product Development Manager / Product Marketing Manager to join the sales / marketing team with a leading parts supplier.

The role is open to all levels of individual with a background as a Product Manager / Brand Manager in the automotive aftermarket.

Ideally located – office based commutable from Bedford, Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Hemel Hemstead, Luton and North West London

The Role

  • Recommend and develop product ranges to the company’s accepted margin, product brands and strategies.
  • Work closely with other departments covering part number creation, brand selection, market pricing taking into account profit margin requirements, cross referencing, catalogue linking etc.
  • Assist in maximising the gross margin by working in conjunction with the purchasing department to resolve pricing issues and improve company’s overall purchasing terms.
  • Create and collate data for the company’s printed catalogues as and when a new version is updated/created.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of the electronic catalogue.
  • Assist with enquiries from purchasing and sales departments to any product related issues including pricing, warranty, technical issues, identification, cross references etc.
  • Assist with the stock management and stock cleanse activity in conjunction with the purchasing department to meet the company’s requirements.
  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions, customers and training evenings.

  • AC Vector Drives familiarity

Additionally;

Heading up the Quality Assurance function this role is pivotal in analysing and rectifying product engineering flaws to ensure components meet and often exceed OE specifications. We require an individual with a keen eye for mechanical engineering processes along with an ability to spot potential problems and deploy rectification processes. A detailed knowledge of quality checks and processes is vital.

  • Develop the businesses quality assurance, including QM-Systems and QA processes.
  • Conduct supplier audits and product audits.
  • Work closely with procurement and engineering personnel.
  • Develop robust QC checking procedures for goods-in and more importantly finished goods out.
  • Provide regular QA reports to the Managing Director and the board, deploying swift, corrective actions when and where necessary.
  • Assess warranty claims and use this information to improve quality moving forward.
  • Implement a long terms strategy to build and grow quality assurance activities for the business.

  • Our ideal candidate will be an experienced Technical Parts / Quality Assurance professional ideally from within a low volume mechanical manufacturing business, a low volume car manufacturer motorsport engineering or even the classic car spares sector.

To steer this continued growth trend, we are looking to hire a dedicated and passionate Head of Sales and Marketing a Senior Sales & Marketing Manager to develop their OEM activities and established aftermarket retro-fit business.

The key points…

The role has two key responsibilities, the first will be to engage and further grow the company’s global OEM business. Their products are high end specification with optimum performance so key OEM business will be the low volume high performance players and the luxury car market. The second part of the challenge will be increase and grow their already established global distributor and retro-fit business which largely consist specialist motorsport distributors, tuning specialists and the serious speed enthusiasts. The business also has interests in other adjacent market sectors which would also fall into this remit.

This role is senior executive appointment and reports directly into the CEO.

In an ideal world…

Ideally if you have experience in selling and marketing technically advanced components or high-end car technologies to automotive OEM’s, luxury car manufacturers or motorsport engineering sectors then this would be of distinct interest. Knowledge of the motorsport sector and fast road market would also be key as the business has developed a healthy international presence within the motorsport distributor and retailer channels. A qualified Accountant is required to join the dealer development team of a leading vehicle manufacturer.  The Business Manager will monitor and develop performance and profitability throughout the network.  We are seeking a candidate with experience of operating within automotive, commercial vehicle, construction machinery, agricultural machinery or marine dealers.

The Candidate

  • Hold a professional Accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar.
  • Experience of both Performance Management and Risk Management.
  • You will be able to produce financial reports and manage investment appraisals.
  • A familiarity with dealer management accounts and understand the dealership business model; this could be automotive, commercial vehicle, construction machinery, agricultural machinery or marine.
  • Proven results in dealership turnaround.
  • You will have a commercial outlook.
  • The ability to read, interpret and analyse financial data is essential.
  • Confident and professional, you will be able to challenge views and ideas while remaining diplomatic.
  • This role is office based with the requirement for national and international travel.

The Role

The Finance Business Manager / Accountant will report to the General Manager – Dealer Development, working on a national and international scale to improve financial performance and profitability.

  • Support the implementation of dealer composites.
  • Manage the development of business planning, forecasting and balance scorecards.
  • Identify areas where performance can be improved, investigate causes of poor performance and work with dealers to develop plans to improve financial performance and profitability.
  • Work with dealers and the Global dealer development team to monitor success of recovery plans.
  • Identify best practice and share throughout the global network.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial reviews and exercises on profitability and viability.
  • Deliver training to dealers and colleagues.
